Note: International currency deposits must be made in the South African Rand equivalent. All charges are for the remitter's account.

Bookings will only be held for 48hrs and will automatically be cancelled by our online booking system if a 75% deposit has not been received.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

Bookings Policy
A 75 % deposit is required to secure a booking. Please note that a reservation is not confirmed or secure until this deposit requirement has been met. Deposits can be made via bank transfers or telephonically using your credit card.
The balance of payment is due one month prior to arrival. We reserve the right to cancel the booking should payment not be received 30 days prior to arrival.
If a booking is made less than 30 days prior to the date of arrival, full pre-payment is required.
Please note: Any booking for an elephant activity (breakfast walk, elephant walk, etc.) requires either a 75 % deposit or the provision of credit card details to secure a booking. A reservation cannot be confirmed or secure until these requirements have been met. The balance of payment is due on arrival.

Please note that if you decide to do the bank transfer, you will responsible for all the bank charges as per our booking policy. Any difference that may arise from the invoiced amount and the final bank transfer figure will be charged to the guest. To avoid this please tell your bank when making payments that you will pay all charges.

Provisional bookings:
• Bookings will only be held for 48hrs and will automatically be cancelled by our online booking system if 75% deposit has not been received.
• Proof of payment is required within 48hrs after making a provisional booking.

Cancellation policy
• Cancellation 15-30 days prior to arrival - 25% cancellation fee
• Cancellation 8-14 days prior to arrival - 50 % cancellation fee
• Cancellation 3-7 days prior to arrival - 75 % cancellation fee
• Cancellation 48 hours prior to arrival - 100 % cancellation fee
Guests will be charged for the number of people that booked for an activity, irrespective of any non-arrivals.
Management reserves the right to cancel an elephant activity at any time should it become necessary due to security and/or safety risk, or if weather conditions do not allow an activity to continue, or if it is felt that the wellbeing of the animals or the safety of the guests is being jeopardised. Refunds will be applicable under such circumstances.

Note: No person will be allowed to participate in any elephant activity without having signed the necessary indemnity documents.
No person will be allowed to participate in any elephant activity under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substances.

Customer privacy policy
Knysna Elephant Park shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, "personal information" shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). The PAIA may be downloaded from:

Payment options accepted
Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, credit cards for online bookings. Bank transfers or cash will only be accepted for direct bookings into the Knysna Elephant Park bank account, the details of which will be provided on request
Credit card acquiring and security
Credit card transactions will be acquired for Knysna Elephant Park via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no credit card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.
Customer details separate from card details
Customer details will be stored by Knysna Elephant Park separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za
Merchant Outlet country and transaction currency
The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction Currency is South African Rand (ZAR).
Responsibility
Knysna Elephant Park takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including sale of goods and services sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods
Country of domicile
This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and Knysna Elephant Park chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other
documents or communication of whatsoever nature.
Variation
Knysna Elephant Park may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.
